NURS 2821U – Clinical Judgment in the Context of Nursing Pharmacology

This course is designed for the Registered Practical Nurses transitioning to Registered Nurse practice, focusing on critical thinking skills and clinical judgment for safe medication administration. Grounded in a clinical judgment framework (Tanner’s Clinical Judgment/Clinical Judgment Measurement Model), students will refine their decision-making abilities to ensure safe medication practices in diverse care settings. Building on prior knowledge of pathophysiology, health assessment, and nursing science, students will demonstrate diagnostic reasoning for safe medication practice. In addition, students will enhance health teaching skills to educate patients on safe medication practices across the healthcare continuum.
