Educational Studies – GAS Transfer

Admission requirements

Students who have successfully completed a General Arts and Sciences Certificate - Liberal Arts Transfer option may apply for direct admission into the second year of the Educational Studies  program. Students will need to complete EDST 1000U – Foundations of Learning . It is also recommended to take EDST 1100U – Problem and Inquiry Based Learning  and EDST 1230U – Design Thinking and Visual Design for Educational Contexts .

Students will receive credit for 30 credits, but will need to complete any required EDST courses from first year where credit was not given. Students entering Educational Studies through GAS Transfer admission will likely need to take more than 120 credits to achieve enough content courses to qualify for Intermediate/Senior teachables in the Bachelor of Education.

Eligible General Arts and Sciences Certificate applicants must have achieved a mark of no less than 70 per cent in each required course in the GASC – Liberal Arts Transfer courses, with an overall average of 77 per cent or higher. Admission remains competitive and so is not guaranteed.
