General information
The five-year Nuclear Engineering and Management program combines the study of nuclear engineering and business.
The first two years of study provide students with a solid foundation in the fundamentals of mathematics and sciences, with Years 3 and 5 concentrating on engineering sciences and specific nuclear engineering courses. In Year 4, students in the management program focus their study on business.
Learning takes place in a variety of settings including lectures, tutorials, field visits, laboratories and via computer simulation – the most extensive computer simulation of nuclear power plants of any engineering program in Ontario.
Admission requirements
Applications to the Bachelor of Engineering and Management will be accepted in the winter semester of a student’s third year of study. A minimum CGPA of 2.3 is required to be eligible to apply to the program and to continue in the program. This program may have limited space and applications are considered on a competitive basis. Successful applicants will be notified by the Registrar’s office by the end of May after the term of application.
Program details and degree requirements
The Nuclear Engineering and Management program follow the same degree requirements as the four-year degree program, but also includes the addition of 10 management courses, which are taken in Year 4. Students in the Engineering and Management program will then take the regular fourth year of the engineering program in Year 5. Please note the Business electives are subject to availability of space and not all electives are offered each semester.
