NURS 3702U – Health and Healing: Adult Health Challenges II Theory and Practicum


This course is designed to advance students’ knowledge when providing holistic care to individuals facing acute or chronic health challenges. Through focused application of advanced nursing concepts, students will hone their ability to deliver individualized plans of care. Central to this course is the use of Tanner’s Clinical Judgment Model to guide students in developing critical thinking and clinical judgment while caring for patients with complex health conditions. Through case studies, simulation experiences, reflective activities, and practicum, students will enhance their critical thinking skills required to assess and respond to the evolving needs of complex patients. Students will have the opportunity to refine communication skills with patients, families, and the interprofessional team. Reflective practice will be emphasized throughout the course.

Note(s): Students must pass both the theoretical (classroom) and practicum (clinical) components of the course to pass the course.
