PSYC 3520U – Introduction to Cognitive Neuroscience

Sitting at the intersection of neuroscience and psychology, this course offers a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles underlying brain structure/function, and the ways in which this structure/function supports the emergence and control of cognitive phenomena. Cognitive processes of focus will include perception, attention, memory, language, and/or executive functions. For each, conversations will consider how the cognitive process is supported by the neural systems, how dysfunction of neural systems may contribute to dysfunction of cognitive processes, and how neuroscience methods can contribute to and enrich our understanding of cognition.
