ELEE 2790U – Electric Circuits


This course provides students in engineering disciplines other than electrical engineering with the fundamentals of electrical engineering. The course covers basic concepts of electricity that include electric current, voltage, power, energy, electric circuits with DC and AC power supply, dependent sources, and series and parallel circuits. Students will learn circuit analysis techniques, Ohm’s Law; Kirchhoff’s current and voltage Laws; Thevenin Theorem; Norton Theorem; energy storage elements; first and second order circuits with DC input and transient analysis thereof; AC steady state analysis of circuits; frequency response; AC power; power factor; power factor correction; single and three phase circuits; electrical measuring equipment; basics of transformers, operational amplifiers and electric circuits in engineering applications.
