BUSI 2900U – Fundamentals of Cybersecurity for Business


Cybersecurity has become a major concern for businesses and organizations, with news of data breaches and cyberattacks frequently in the news. This course introduces commerce students to core concepts in cybersecurity including malicious software, cryptography, risk management, and the security of software and commerce supply chains.
Students will also explore the strategic role of cybersecurity in business, its impact on business operations, and learn about risk management approaches in dealing with cybersecurity in addition to policies and frameworks that govern this domain. The broader geopolitical dimension of cybersecurity is examined with special attention to Canada’s cyber foreign policy and approach.
