SOFE 4630U – Cloud Computing The objective of this course is to expose students to the state of the art in cloud computing. Students will learn about issues relevant to the design, implementation and operation of cloud computing infrastructures, platforms, and services for the Internet of Things (IoT). Topics include web services, description languages, communication protocols, data centres, virtualization, storage, big data, and cloud programming models, services and resource management, and security, privacy and trust issues. In addition, students will learn about systems research through a research and development project. Credit hours: 3 Lecture hours: 3 Prerequisite(s): SOFE 4790U
