HLSC 5126G - Motor Behaviour and Developmental Disabilities

In this graduate level course, the students will engage in a critical analysis of the factors that contribute to the motor behaviour, motor development and the associated characteristics of children with developmental disabilities. The emphasis will be placed on empirical literature in the pediatric disability domain to derive instructional and rehabilitation practices with this population within the context of an ecological model. Application of this empirical knowledge to planning, assessing, prescribing, implementing and evaluating movement, rehabilitation, and sport skill programs for children with pediatric disabilities will be the focus.
