SSCI 5070G - Policies and Practices in the Criminal Justice System The aim of this course is to critically examine the principal stages of the criminal justice system. It will review the core institutions of Canada’s criminal justice system. The policies and practices that have shaped various aspects of the criminal justice system will also be analyzed. Key topics include policing, sentencing and the courts, corrections, reintegration and aftercare. This course will draw upon the expertise of our cross-disciplinary faculty and representatives from criminal justice organizations to examine issues related to each aspect of the criminal justice system.
