NUCL 5300G - Advanced Topics in Radioactive Waste Management

This course examines the various international approaches used for the development of publicly acceptable radioactive waste disposal facilities. Particular emphasis is placed on the technical aspects of geologic disposal systems, used/recycled fuel disposal and the assessment of radioisotope release. The influence of public acceptance on the selection and implementation of technical solutions is also considered.
Credit hours: 3
Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate course in radioactive waste management.
