HLSC 4310U – Altered Physiology IV: Pharmacological Interactions An overview of the mechanism of action of drugs and toxins that affect the human body in normal and altered states. The course will start on the cellular basis of drug action and cover the pharmacological basis of drug interactions in the human body. Topics will include drugs of the cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, endocrine and urinary systems, as well as drugs that are used in treatment of chronic and multi-system conditions such as diabetes and obesity. Drugs used in treatment of mental health conditions and drugs of abuse will also be covered.
