POSC 2502U – Community Development Policy This course is an introduction to community development policies and practices. Community has many faces in modern times. Community can refer to traditional patterns of settlement or to sub-groups with social cohesion within a geographic area or even to linked interacting groups of people who communicate remotely but do not live in the same area. This course is an introduction to the development of community. Some of the topics that may be covered include: community definitions, community boundaries, ethnic and cultural communities, neighbourhoods, community building, and community activism.
