POSC 1100U – What is Community? Students taking this course will learn about the controversies surrounding contested ideas/concepts of what a community is. Students will learn about some of the principles necessary for fostering a more inclusive model of community. Students will be introduced to non-traditional forms of community including resistance movements, north and south, and global cyber communities. In this course students will be introduced to the different paradigms of community development theory.
