BIOL 3650U – Fundamentals of Nutrition This course provides the basic concepts for the study of human nutrition. Topics will include Canadian nutrition guidelines, label literacy, evaluation of good quality nutritional information, macronutrient and micronutrient nutrition, fibre and energy metabolism. The structure and function of macronutrients and fibre, their digestion, absorption and metabolism in the body and their implications for health at various life stages will be discussed.
