PSYC 5590G - Risk Assessment This course introduces students to the assessment of risk in forensic settings. Students will gain an increased understanding of the principles and components of valid and reliable assessment of risk including consideration of approaches ranging from unstructured clinical judgment to actuarial approaches. Typical topics will include risk assessment in specific contexts such as child protection cases, and sentencing and release decision making, and of special populations such as sexual offenders and juveniles. Credit hours: 3
