CRMN 4079U – Alternative Sanctions This course will consider alternative sanctions to prisons and jails, examining impacts on sentenced individuals, the community and the criminal justice system. The course will also explore the relationship between pre- and post-sentencing practices, policies and outcomes, particularly as they relate to community corrections, such as probation, diversion and community service. Overlaps and relationships between intermediate sanctions and imprisonization will also be examined.
