ENGR 0998U – Engineering Internship Program An optional internship work term for students in engineering and applied science programs aimed at providing significant professional experience and exposure to an engineering workplace. The work term is between 12 and 16 months duration, normally commencing in May and concluding by August of the following year. Registration in this course is conditional on the student obtaining and accepting an acceptable internship placement offer from an approved employer partner. Interns are visited/contacted as required by the course co-ordinator to assess their progress. Internship students are required to submit a report, following established criteria, within one month of completing the internship placement. The course is graded on a pass/fail basis and the grade appears in the student’s academic transcript. Both grades have no numerical value and are not included in a student’s grade point average. Prerequisite(s): Completion of three years of the academic program with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.3 and permission of the faculty.
