NUCL 5060G - Nuclear Concepts for Engineers and Scientists


The course is a fast introduction to atomic, nuclear and reactor physics for graduate students without an adequate background in these areas. Topics covered include nuclear structure, radioactivity, interaction of radiation with matter, neutron flux, neutron diffusion, nuclear reactors and reactor kinetics.
Credit hours: 3
Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate knowledge of Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations, Vector Calculus.
Note(s): This course is not available to students who graduated from an undergraduate program in the Faculty of Energy Systems and Nuclear Science.
