MCSC 7220G - Advanced Topics in Numerical Analysis This course explores recent problems in numerical analysis that are at the forefront of current research. The main objective of the course is to familiarize students with contemporary theoretical results and practical algorithms as preparation for doctoral research. The topics are chosen according to the needs and demands of the students. Potential topics include: level-set methods, finite element methods, finite volume methods, spectral methods, numerical optimization, multigrid methods, numerical linear algebra, Krylov subspace methods, preconditioning iterative methods.
