EDST 1010U – Teaching, Learning and Educational Contexts

This introductory course unpacks the interconnected but distinct nature of teaching, learning, and educational contexts. Students will engage with current and emerging issues facing educators and learners, exploring how teaching, learning, and education manifest in various contexts, including formal, informal, online and alternative settings. The course emphasizes the impact of cultural, social, and environmental factors on education, examining how these elements shape teaching and learning practices throughout the human lifespan. Through discussions, case studies, and reflective assignments, students will develop a deeper understanding of how modern educational approaches strive to support inclusive learning experiences that develop critical and creative thinking.
