EDST 2200U – Literature and Pedagogy: Exploring Human Experience

This course offers students the opportunity to explore the rich world of literature while simultaneously examining teaching approaches in English, Language and Literacy education. Focusing on diverse authors, genres, historical periods, and cultures, students will analyze a wide range of literary works and engage in critical analysis, reflective writing, and discussions that deepen their understanding of key thematic elements in literature. Students will reflect on the role of literature in fostering understanding and empathy, as well as critical thinking and cultural awareness. The course extends beyond literary exploration, incorporating pedagogical elements to equip students with strategies for teaching literature effectively.
