EDST 3460U – Working with Clients and Partners

Students in this course will be introduced to theoretical approaches and practical tools used in project management, client relations, and change management. To build practical skills, students will work collaboratively with a client and/or subject matter expert (SME) to analyze and respond to a Request for Proposal (RFP) and design an actionable work plan that supports organizational needs. Students will select appropriate tools and draw on informed practice to undertake research and conduct needs analyses that will support the evaluation of job roles, competencies, and performance gaps to meet the needs of the client, SME, or partner organization. In consultation with clients, students will practice their negotiation skills to propose solutions around timelines, budgets, and deliverables in a manner that emphasizes the value proposition of their services and/or skills, and aligns with the needs and vision of the client or partner organization. By integrating theory and practical application, this course prepares students to lead inclusive and impactful projects in diverse professional settings.
