HLSC 7095G - Candidacy Examination and Thesis Proposal The course will include both written and oral components. Students will be asked to produce a thesis proposal wherein they should thoroughly and clearly describe their dissertation research plan. This should include a comprehensive review of the scholarly context wherein their research will sit, alternative research methodologies that may be used to explore the problem, along with a discussion of its broader scientific and social relevance. Where applicable, preliminary data should be included to show the feasibility of the planned dissertation. The course will also include an oral component wherein the student will describe the research context, and plan and address related questions.
