SSCI 5001G - Major Paper in Criminology This course is designed to allow students to combine the knowledge garnered from graduate-level courses and apply them to a project resulting in a major paper. The paper will develop all of the analytical and intellectual skills of a thesis but is shorter in length. Normally, the paper should be approximately 50 pages long. The paper should be concerned with discussing a meaningful question within criminology and may require some empirical research, a critical review of the literature or a critical analysis of a theoretical problem. Students will complete this requirement under the supervision of a professor. Students receive a grade of pass or fail. The final paper will be submitted to the university library. Credit hours: 6
