MCSC 6001G - MSc Thesis The thesis is the major component of the MSc program and is carried out under the direction of the student’s supervisor. The thesis involves an investigation of a research topic with the possibility of leading to a peer-reviewed article. Through the thesis, candidates are expected to give evidence of competence in research and a sound understanding of the area of specialization involved. Students must prepare and successfully defend a written thesis at the end of the program related to the research they have undertaken. The student’s supervisory committee must approve the commencement of the writing of the thesis. The thesis is evaluated by an examining committee and accompanied by an oral presentation. The student must receive a satisfactory report on the written thesis and must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the research topic. The student will receive a grade of either pass or fail. Credit hours: 15 Prerequisite(s): Enrolment in the Modelling and Computational Science graduate program.
