NUCL 6000G - PhD Candidacy Exam Each student in the doctoral program is required to prepare a written research proposal and pass a candidacy exam. The thesis proposal consists of a literature review to address the current state of knowledge in the research field, thesis objectives, research hypothesis to be tested/examined, proposed methodology, timeline, major milestones and expected significance of the research outcomes. The course includes a candidacy exam that evaluates the student’s research proposal, knowledge of the research field and background preparation. This non-credit course is evaluated on a pass/fail basis. Credit hours: 0 Prerequisite(s): Enrolment in the respective PhD program.
