INDG 2500U – Two-Eyed Seeing in the Natural Sciences This course will investigate the intersections of Traditional Indigenous Knowledge and western science. We will explore Indigenous ways of knowing with perspectives of land, water, Earth, and space. We will also discuss the impacts of colonialism on science. The course will contain two-eyed seeing lessons and examples for the following core concepts in science:
- Life on the land and water: biology, ecology and health
- The Land: climate, geology and geochemistry
- Things we can’t see, hear, or touch: energy, molecules and atoms
- Human interactions with Land and Life: sustainability, engineering and technology
- The Universe: time and space
