METE 4400U – Introduction to Real-Time Embedded Systems This course focuses on the design and implementation of real-time, embedded, microprocessor-based systems. Topics include: embedded system design; instruction sets for microprocessor architecture; I/O; interrupts, hardware and software of embedded systems; program design and analysis; practical issues; multi-tasking operating systems; scheduling; and system design techniques.
