CRMN 3027U – Delinquency, Deviance, and Youth Crime Youth and young adults occupy a unique place in society that shapes how and why they commit crime, but also how society reacts to those offences. This course considers the history of juvenile justice in Canada, including when we started treating young people differently than adult offenders and the evolution of youth criminal justice legislation. It also considers different issues related to youthful offending and deviance including media representations, substance use, gang involvement, homelessness and offending within schools.
