MLSC 3200U – Transfusion Science I This course introduces the theoretical concepts and immunological principles fundamental to testing in the transfusion laboratory. The material covered will form the foundation for MLSC 3220U – Transfusion Science II in the following semester. Students will learn the basic concepts of blood groups and serological testings, the protocol for the collection, storage, preparation and testing of donor blood. Current blood bank testing technologies and automation, quality management and compliance will be covered in this course.
