MATH 4010U – Dynamical Systems and Chaos The modern theory of differential equations studies the behaviour of solutions of nonlinear differential equations. In particular, the notion of dynamical system is crucial to the development of the theory and leads to the analysis of chaotic solutions. The course will provide the student with a rigorous treatment of the qualitative theory of ordinary differential equations, and an introduction to the modern theory of dynamical systems and to elementary bifurcation theory.
