FSCI 3040U – Forensic Chemistry This course explores key challenges of forensic science from a fundamental chemical perspective. Topics include principles and theory of light, chemical enhancement of fingerprints, polarized light microscopy, serial number restoration, extraction methods for illicit drugs, and gunshot residue analysis. There is a special focus on chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques and their applications to forensic science.
