POSC 3751U – Media, War and Conflict This course examines the roles, uses and impacts of information and communication technologies (ICTs), the media and popular culture in inter and intra-state conflict and war. Students explore current theorists in the field and engage with relevant topics such as: the militarization of ICT R&D, the doctrines and practices of information warfare, the military-industrial-media complex and militainment, cyber-warfare, security and surveillance, public diplomacy, soft power and popular geopolitics.
