POSC 3101U – Inequality, Environment and Development Students taking this course will learn to analyze development through the lens of difference. The course content seeks to highlight both the inequitable (and unequal) distribution of power and control over development as well as the inequitable distribution of development’s impacts and benefits. The role of oppressive political practices such as colonization and globalization will be featured. Particular attention will be paid to environmental issues and how they relate to inequalities of class, ethnicity, and gender.
