PHY 2060U – Modern Physics An overview of early 20th century physics with a focus on atomic and nuclear physics. Topics include quantum physics, including blackbody radiation, the photoelectric effect, wave-particle duality, the wave function and Schrödinger equation, and the uncertainty principle; atomic physics, including the hydrogen atom, multielectron atoms, and the Pauli exclusions principle; and nuclear physics, including binding, radioactivity, and nuclear reactions.
