POSC 3501U – Poverty and Public Policy This course is an introduction to Canadian social policies with respect to poverty and income support. Some of the areas that may be covered include: the development of the welfare state, federal and provincial income support policies, the feminization of poverty, aboriginal poverty, childhood poverty, poverty activism, and workfare programs.
