CSCI 6700G - Advanced Information Management This course covers advanced topics in information management technology and literature. Students are introduced to modern data models including relational, XML, unstructured text data and data on the Web. Query languages including SQL, Xquery, information retrieval techniques and their evaluation and optimization algorithms are discussed. Students are also introduced to non-classical query techniques which incorporate data mining, machine learning and AI algorithms. Finally, the topic of visualization and summarization of very large volumes of data are briefly covered. Credit hours: 3 Prerequisite(s): Undergraduate courses in Database Systems and Concepts, Algorithms and Data Structures.
