ENGR 5790G - Safety-Critical Software Systems


This course covers concepts, theory and research issues in developing safety-critical software, with a focus on the design and analysis of the underlying computing and communication architecture (i.e., system). Topics include: challenges in safety-critical software system design, worst-case execution time analysis, predictable system architectures, architectures of real-time operating systems for safety-critical applications, architecture analysis and design language (AADL) for safety-critical applications, mulit-mode safety-critical computation and communication, verification, validation and certification of safety-critical software, data challenges and machine learning in safety-critical software case studies.
