MTSC 6010G - Physics and Chemistry of Materials This one-semester course examines in depth the fundamental principles and concepts used by physicists and chemists to describe materials. It covers scientific and practical interrelations in physics, chemistry and biology of materials, emphasizing the structure, physical and chemical properties of all classes of materials. Credit hours: 3 Prerequisite(s): In light of the interdisciplinary nature of the program, all students should have completed at least one full year of study in undergraduate physics, chemistry and mathematics (to the level of differential and integral calculus). Some exposure to quantum mechanics is desirable.
