ENGR 6003G - PhD Seminar for Mechanical Engineering Students participate in seminars by internal and external speakers on current research topics. Every PhD student is required to give at least one 30-minute seminar on their thesis research, typically within the third year of their program of study but preferably after their candidacy exam. In addition, students are strongly encouraged to make presentations of their research work at conferences before defending their theses. This course will also cover relevant topics such as techniques in literature search, technical writing, citation, and presentation, as well as issues of plagiarism. After completing the course, a student participant will receive a grade of either pass or fail. Credit hours: 0
