NUCL 1530U – Radiation and Nuclear Technologies This course provides an introduction and overview of the application of radiation and nuclear technologies in society with particular emphasis on energy production, the environment and medicine. The importance of safety in general and radiation safety in particular is also covered. A principal aim of the course is to provide students with a broad overview of the many practical applications of radiation and nuclear technologies and the role of scientists and engineers in the development of these technologies for the betterment of society and the protection of the environment. Credit hours: 3 Lecture hours: 3 Tutorial hours: 1.5 biweekly
