HLSC 3800U – Introduction to Statistics for Health Sciences This course offers an introduction to critical appraisal skills in assessing evidence presented in health science, with a focus on real-life relevance. The application of statistical methods to the study of research questions will be explored in terms of both descriptive and inferential statistics. Topics to be included are: randomized experiments and observational studies, measurements, frequency distribution, measures of central tendency and variability, correlation and regression, sample survey, probability, confidence intervals construction and hypothesis testing.
