POSC 1100U – What is Community? Students taking this course will learn about the controversies surrounding contested ideas/concepts of what a community is. Students will learn about some of the principles necessary for fostering a more inclusive model of community. Students will be introduced to non-traditional forms of community including resistance movements, north and south, and global cyber communities. In this course students will be introduced to the different paradigms of community development theory. Credit hours: 3 Lecture hours: 3 Credit restriction(s): CDEV 1000U, CDPS 1000U
