BUSI 1916U – Mathematical Analysis for Business The course provides foundational knowledge of elementary calculus and its applications to business. Its topics include characteristics, classes and limits of functions, the concept of the derivative and the integral, rules of differentiation and methods of integration, and their uses in graphing functions, optimization, and calculating change and its effects. Throughout the course, students apply these calculus techniques to modeling and analyzing problems in different areas of business and economics. A variety of software and web-based tools are used for visualizing concepts in calculus, particularly in optimization, graphing and modeling data using functions.
